Simple lifestyle habits with a HUGE impact

Updated: Sep 29, 2023

Everyone is saying to reduce, reuse, recycle – but how? We are equally guilty of not knowing where and how to start as we are often resistant to change out of our old habits, habits that have already become second nature in our daily lives.

Inner excuse: Huh, how to create a difference? I'm only 1 person leh!

Yes, you CAN! Once you've taken the FIRST STEP by changing your daily single-use items to REUSABLES, you are doing SO MUCH once it becomes a habit! 😊

Here are some simple ways you can start off with!

1. Reusable coffee cup & straws

Who doesn't need his/her cup of coffee in the morning? Instead of "dabao" (singlish definition: takeaway) every morning at your coffeeshop, why not pack a collapsible cup AND reusable straw in your bag! You'll be saving 365 paper/styrofoam/plastic cups and straws in a year. "Jio" (singlish definition: gather) your colleagues and you can do the math.

2. Reusable lunch box & utensils

For those who usually can't find a seat in busy hawker centres or food courts, just bring along your reusable lunch box and utensils for "dabao". Just imagine how much single-use you are totally cutting down on! It sure takes a little effort to wash up, but know that you are definitely doing your part for the planet you're breathing on!

3. Reusable dehumidifier box

Do you use moisture absorber boxes at home? They are also known as dehumidifier boxes that you put in wardrobes, and bathrooms to absorb excess moisture in the air, remove musty odours and reduce mould. Once the white solids in the boxes turn liquid, you throw them away and replace them with new plastic boxes almost every month. Ouch!

P.S. Did you know that you can REFILL these boxes and make them turn into REUSABLES? Check out the HUGE refill pack here! (click image to view)

4. Reusable deodouriser charcoal packs

Interior design is great, but not the fumes and toxic formaldehyde gases produced by the new cabinets and vinyl flooring! Activated charcoal definitely absorbs the odours and toxic fumes, especially when you've just moved into your new home.

Guess what, the charcoal packs are reusable too! Find out more here! (click image to view)
